Solutions Rooted in the Industry

Unlike many of our competitors, BDS initially created its OSS Network Data Reconciliation Solution while working within the Industry with a particular Communications Carrier. The Carrier's leadership team knew that they had problems, but were not sure to what extent and whether or not the benefits of correcting these problems would merit the cost and effort. The challenge was to develop a methodology for conducting physical and logical inventories, reconciliation methods, and then put it all to the test.

A number of points-of-presence (POP's) were selected in the Western United States for complete equipment and circuit inventory. This data was gathered entirely manually and brought back to be reconciled against the Carrier's provisioning, billing, fixed assets, and offnet data stores. The results were remarkable - ROI in the millions of dollars was found. The leadership decided to invest in reconciling their entire network and OSS and completed these efforts in early 2003. The competitive, organizational and financial benefits associated with this investment have been tremendous.

After helping the Carrier to develop this equipment and circuit inventory and reconciliation methodology, we continued to hear a common refrain from other Carriers. Virtually every one of the companies we interacted with shared the same problems - stranded equipment and circuits, unbilled revenue, wasted capital and operating expenses, lengthy intervals, and more. The decision was clear. The industry needed an automated solution for efficiently and affordably reconciling their network with the back office systems.

BDS subject-matter-experts and developers then constructed the Net Sync™ Solution, an end-to-end Solution that streamlines the process and reduces the amount of time and resources required to reconcile the virtual depiction of your network with the "as-built" elements in the field.

Pioneering an End-to-End Solution

All BDS Solutions include a combination of proprietary software tools and specialized knowledge that function interdependently. The core software component CircuitWise™, includes MobileMap™, a mobile computing front-end tool that expedites the field data validation, data entry and work management processes. BDS clients achieve and maintain data integrity within the critical provisioning, billing and leased line OSS data stores. BDS also helps its clients recognize a rapid "bottom line" stimulus - often within the first few weeks of the project.
